Workstay for Working Holiday Backpackers in Western Australia since 1986
Workstay Home

Donnybrook is a town situated between Bunbury and Manjimup on the South Western Highway, 210 kilometres (130.49 miles) south of Perth. The town is the centre of apple production in Western Australia

Between October and June the districts fruit and vegetable harvest takes place.

Since 1980 Brooklodge has been providing accommodation and transport for visiting working holiday backpackers in Donnybrook and organises the work roster for most of the districts farmers. Brooklodge is very well known and popular and is often full to capacity during the season.

Donnybrook has a large 7 day a week supermarket and many other shops. It has 2 pubs, a post office, hospital, police station etc and is only 32k's from Bunbury, W.A's second largest town.

The district of Donnybrook-Balingup is very picturesque and a pleasant, well organised district for visiting working holiday makers.

Brooklodge is often full to capacity during the harvest season so telephoning ahead to check on vacancies is a good idea..

Once you've checked in and secured your bed your name will be added to the daily work roster/stand-by list.

You may get an immediate start or you may have to wait your turn on the standby list. The nature of the industry is that it is very unpredictable and anything can happen at any time to change the availability of jobs.

It often happens that you can be at the bottom of a long standby list when suddenely the list evaporates and you've all got jobs. At other times you may be waiting several day's or more for the next job.
